Give Me A Break
Some rather shocking news.
Apparently (I hope you are sitting down), students in high school get bored in their classes.
I know. I had to take a few deep breaths myself. But once I'd calmed my traumatized nerves, I felt only gladness and gratitude, that someone spent the time and money to bring to the public's attention this earth-shattering revelation.
If I were less charitable than I am, of course, I probably would have wondered sarcastically if the surveyors had ever attended high school; if they had, they wouldn't have had to do a survey to find out what everyone already knows. But I really am awfully charitable, at least in my current mood, so I will not make such a cynical observation.
I'll just offer my expressed hope that soon they do a survey for workers in the workplace. Can't wait to hear the results of that research...

Its amazing what people spend their money on to research. I think the next study should be about how not sleeping leads people to be *gasp* tired! And cranky. ;)
Did you read the study this week on yahoo about how students have become too egotistical too? They attributed it to the shift in the 80's to only giving children positive feedback. The study had flawed q's though if you ask me. One was 'if I ruled the country it would be a better place'. Well, duh. I think anyone in the states could answer yes to that question right now and be absolutely correct. ;)

LOL! i love your idea for the next new groundbreaking research idea.
yeah, i read about the other study. seems like no matter what you do as a parent, you are destined to screw up your kids for life.
maybe this is why i am hesitant about the whole having-kids plan. all i don't need is something else to feel guilty about!
